毛泽东提出的“眼睛向下”工作作风,是在马克思主义理论指导下继承中国优秀传统文化,总结中国革命胜利和失败经验教训的基础上提出来的。“眼睛向下”要求党员干部积极参加社会实践,探索社会发展规律;深入了解各阶级状况,加深对社会问题的认识;关心和解决群众利益问题,从群众中汲取智慧和力量;克服主观主义作风,做到理论联系实际。做到“眼睛向下”的态度是:要有满腔热忱;要有深入下去的决心;要有求知的渴望;要有甘当小学生的精神。深刻领悟“眼睛向下”工作作风的内涵和实质,对新时代加强党的建设、转变党的作风具有重要现实意义。

On the basis of the experience and lessons gained from the victories and setbacks over the Chinese revolution,Mao Zedong proposed the conduct of“looking-downward”with the guidance of Marxist theory and by integrating China’s fine traditional culture.To“look downward”requires that Party members and officials actively engage themselves with the society and explore the laws of social development,deepen understanding of the situations of various classes and social issues,care for and solve issues of public interest,draw wisdom and strength from the people,overcome subjectivism and integrate theory with practice.To act on the conduct of“looking downward”demands enthusiasm for work,determination to explore the truth,desire for knowledge,and willingness to learn everything.A profound understanding of its essence and implications is of great significance for strengthening Party building and improving Party conduct in the new era.
