Development and Contribution: Su Zhaozheng’s Thought on Labour Movement

苏兆征是中国早期的工人运动先驱和领袖,是香港海员工会、中华全国总工会的创始人和领导人之一。在国内政局动荡和国际工人运动频发的背景下,苏兆征工人运动的思想逐渐形成和发展,其思想主要以民族独立和人民解放为目标,以学习借鉴结合实践为标准,以恪尽职守接受监督为原则,以尊重和发扬工人民主为指南。认真研究苏兆征的工人运动思想,对新时代促进工人阶级的发展具有重要的启示。

Su Zhaozheng was one of the pioneers and leaders of the Chinese labour movements and also one of the founders and leaders of the Hong Kong Seamen’s Union and the All-China Federation of Trade Unions.Under the influence of the domestic political turmoils and the frequent international labour movements,Su Zhaozheng’s thought on labour movement began to take shape.Learned from the labour movement practice,Su developed in his revolutionary thought that embodies taking as a goal the national independence and the liberation of the people,valuing both theoretical study and practical experience,sticking to strict enforcement of internal supervision,and always respecting and promoting democracy of the labour.It is of great meaning to study Su’s thought on labour movement which can be an inspiring and guiding reference to today’s growth of the working class.
