当代认知语言学研究之反思——以概念整合中的意识与情感为例

Reflection on Contemporary Cognitive Linguistics Research:With Special Reference to Consciousness and Emotion in Conceptual Integration

理论建构和研究对象的辩证关系是当代认知语言学反思的重点。本文以概念整合理论为例,展现基于自然语料的研究如何推动认知语言学的理论建构。当代哲学家与康德交锋的案例虽然揭示了整合的特点和认知的本质,但囿于语料,忽视了意识和情感的作用。跨越时空展开对话的两则自然语料表明,意识的介入可以制造输入空间,掌控整合并展开反思判断。整合可以由情感驱动并与情感交织,产生诗意的修辞效果。基于自然语料的研究加深了我们对认知的认识,展现了认知语言学理论建构的一个发展方向。

The dialectical relationship between theorizing and research objects constitutes an important reflection of contemporary cognitive linguistics.This paper draws from a case study of conceptual integration theory and demonstrates how research with natural linguistic data can contribute to theorizing in cognitive linguistics.The case of Kant illustrates the features of blending and the essence of cognition.Due to the limitation of the language material,however,the account overlooks the effect of consciousness and emotions.The natural data of two interactions across time and space reveal the intervening of consciousness that can create input spaces,control and monitor blending and carry out reflective judgment.Integration can be driven by and entwined with emotions that give rise to poetic effects.Research based on natural linguistic data provides an in-depth conception of cognition and points out a direction for the development of theorizing in cognitive linguistics.
