第一、二版《共产党宣言》中文全译本封面印刷特征研究

Research on Cover Printing Technology of the First and Second Editions of Communist Manifesto in Chinese

本文从印刷工艺的角度出发,对1920年8月、9月最早两版《共产党宣言》中文全译本(陈望道译)封面进行考证,以一种全新视角进行分析,希望补益于中共党史研究。通过实物研究,本文认为封面采用的是照相网目铜版与铅字组版印刷;通过分析第一、二版封三采用的花边图案,认为第一、二版《共产党宣言》封面印刷与承印《新青年》第八卷的华丰印刷铸字所存在关联。研究还发现封面图像中存在反白文字,认为可以此为线索推断第一版书名错印的原因,并提出了从字体、字号、印刷机来源、编辑印刷流程等方面继续深入研究的路径。

This research from the perspective of printing technology,analyses the covers of the first two Chinese versions of Communist Manifesto(translated by Chen Wangdao)which came out in August and September 1920,will contribute to the study on the Communist Party of China(CPC)history.The objects reveals that the covers were printed in relief halftone and type composition.The analysis upon the border pattern of the cover three shows there is a connection between the cover printing of the first and second editions of the Communist Manifesto and Huafeng Printing and Casting Office which printed the eighth volume of New Youth.It is also found that there is reverse text in the cover imagery,which can be inferred the cause of the misprint of the title in the first edition of the book,and further research from the dimensions of font,font size,source of printer,and editing and printing process is proposed.
