在人类社会的早期,由于经验和征服自然能力的局限,用以标识和推进组织(氏族、部落、同盟)内部管理和交流的信息介质主要来自于天然采集的自然物质。根据当时社会组织的生产能力和水平,用于信息承载的介质基本上分为非加工实物和加工实物两大类。这两种类型的信息介质可以明显地传递出组织形态所处的文明层级。非加工实物阶段的信息介质标志着人类社会组织的原始形态和初级形态;加工实物阶段的信息介质标志着人类社会组织进入文明门槛的自觉意识阶段。此一时期的图书档案管理手段是有天然实物介质特性决定的管理方式。

In the early stage of human society,due to the limitations of experience and the ability to conquer nature,the information medium used to mark and promote the internal management and communication of organizations(clans,tribes,allies)mainly came from natural materials collected.According to the production capacity and level of social organizations at that time,the media used for information bearing are basically divided into two categories:non processed objects and processed objects.These two types of information media can obviously convey the civilization level of the organizational form.The information medium in the stage of non processed material object indicates the primitive and primary form of human social organization;The information medium in the stage of processing physical objects indicates that human social organizations have entered the stage of conscious consciousness of the threshold of civilization.In this period,the management method of books and archives is determined by the characteristics of natural physical media.
