Understanding the New Requirements of Chinese-style Modernization for Social Security

实现现代化是近代以来中国人民的长久梦想,党的二十大明确提出“以中国式现代化全面推进中华民族伟大复兴”。中国式现代化对社会保障,特别是社会保障的普遍性、精准性、公平性、可持续性和经济友好性,都提出了新的更高的要求。同时,我国社会保障还面临社会主要矛盾变化、城镇化、少子老龄化、就业方式多样化等新的风险挑战,需要妥善应对。新时代社会保障改革发展,应当坚持“五度”成功经验,把握“五看”科学方法论,并在“五个维度”不断完善,以健全的中国特色社会保障体系为中国式现代化提供基础性支撑,为中华民族伟大复兴贡献制度性力量。

Realizing modernization has been a long-standing dream of the Chinese people since modern times.Recently,the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China clearly put forward"promoting the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation in all respects with the Chinese-style modernization".The Chinese-style modernization has set higher requirements for social security,particularly its universality,precision,fairness,sustainability and economic friendliness.At the same time,China’s social security faces new risks and challenges,such as changes in the principal social contradiction,urbanization,low fertility and ageing population,and diverse forms of employment,which need to be properly addressed.During the social security reform and development in the new era,China should adhere to the successful experience of the"five aspects",apply the scientific methodology of the"five views",and continue to improve the social security system in the"five dimensions".Finally,a sound social security system with Chinese characteristics will provide fundamental support for the Chinese-style modernization,and contribute to the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
