The Aesthetic Characteristics and Visual Images in Traditional Chinese Opera Films

摘要 戏曲电影是中国独有的一种电影类型,戏曲电影如何以恰到好处的叙事和形式提升舞台所不能达到的审美境界;如何在记录优秀的表演艺术的同时弥补影像转译后舞台光韵的损失,让戏曲的意境和韵味得到最大程度的体现,是本文关注的问题所在。本文聚焦于中国戏曲电影的美学特性和影像创构,从"媒介转换:消融两个世界的对立和冲突""虚实相生:确立戏曲电影的真实观念""镜头结构:心灵世界的直接显现"三个方面思考戏曲电影的媒介转换、真实观念、镜头语言等关键的美学问题。 The traditional opera film is a unique film genre in China.This paper addresses key questions on how opera films are able to appropriately narrate the stories and to elevate aesthetic effects that stage performances could not achieve and how those films document excellent performing arts and simultaneously make up for the loss of the aura of the stage performance after they are converted to be films,allowing for the maximal display of the operas’artistic effects(yijing)and tastes.This article focuses on the aesthetic characteristics and visual images in China’s opera films and touches upon three topics:“The Exchange of Mediums:Resolving the Confrontations and Conflicts of the Two Worlds”;“The Mutual Support of the Abstract and the Concrete:Creating the Concepts of the Real in Opera Films”;and“Constructing the Camera:The Direct Exhibition of the Mindscape.”This article,hence,explores the key aesthetic issues on the exchange of mediums,the concepts of real,and film language in opera films.
