王安石使辽考论——兼与张涤云先生商榷

The Treatise on Wang An-Shi’s Visit to Liao States——On the Explication of Zhang Di-yun

宋仁宗嘉祐五年初,王安石作为送伴使,伴送辽国贺正旦使回国,却未出使辽国。李壁对王安石送伴诗的注释颇有舛误,不能证明王安石曾使辽。所谓"送伴使不能过境",不宜绝对化。《出塞》和《北客置酒》两诗也不足以证明这一点。从使辽来回行程、时间看,王安石不可能于嘉祐八年初使辽。

At the beginning of the fifth year of Song Emperor Renzong Jiayou, Wang An-shi as a sending envoy sent off the envoy of Liao He Zhengdan to the homeland. Actually he did not go to Liao on a diplomatic mission .The notes by Li Bi about Wang An-shi’s sending poems have some errors, which cannot prove that Wang An-shi was once sent to Liao on a diplomatic mission.
