摘要
专业英语课是大学英语的后续课程 ,承担该课程的教师一是英语语言文学专业出身的英语老师 ,二是英语基础较好的相关专业老师。但是 ,调查数据显示 ,目前的专业英语课程的师资不容乐观 ,教学效果不尽如人意。制约该课程发展的因素之一是专业英语教师队伍的知识结构单一 ,不能适应教学发展的需求。本文作者认为 ,有必要建立一个专业英语师资培训课程 ,参加培训的对象应是有较好英语基础的专业教师 ,而非英语语言文学专业出身的英语教师。根据培训学员的实际需求出发 ,该课程分为两个部分 :语言提高部分和教学研究部分。
As a follow up to College English learning, ESP course is usually taught either by teachers who major in English or teachers from relevant disciplines with a better command of English. However, research shows that the current situation in terms of both ESP teachers and ESP teaching effect is not satisfactory. One of the factors that hinders the development of ESP teaching is the unitary structure of teaching staff, which cannot meet the demands of teaching development. The author holds that a training course for ESP teachers must be designed for teachers from relevant disciplines, rather than teachers majoring in English. Based on the trainees needs, the training course should consist of two parts: Language Improvement and Professional Studies.
