Females'pronunciation and intonation in English

语言性别差异是社会语言学的一个重要研究对象。本文在综述国外对女子英语音质、音域、发音和语调研究的基础上,进一步讨论社会、人、语言三者间的关系,并分析产生语言性别差异的原因。

This paper is a literature survey on differentiation in English. Following an introduction, itdiscusses gender differences in vocal quality, pitch, pronundation and prosody. A theoretical frame-work is suggested to explicate the question of where and how gender differences occur in speech.The tripartite relationship established in this paper promises to capture a generalization in the genderstudy.
