摘要
ESP的存在有三个方面的理据,即社会需求理据、逻辑理据和教学理据。ESP无论作为一种教学途径,还是作为一种教学内容,都有其存在的合理性和可操作性。ESP与EGP并不是排斥的,它们有很强的互补性。
The paper presents three reasons for the existence of ESP:societal,logical and pedagogical. ESP is said to be justifiable and practical both as a language teaching approach and as language teaching content. ESP and EGP are shown to complement each other.
