Large-Scale Farming in China: Is the Policy Proper?

本文简要阐述了世界众多国家在规模经营上的实践经验和理论研究，分析了中国农业规模经营试点县的实地调查结果，并提出了有关政策性建议。认为中国应重新评估发展资本密集型规模经营的做法，因为：１．从实践经验上看，农业生产中的规模效益很微弱；２．农场规模与生产效率之间关系一般是反向相关；３．发达国家农场规模大和资本密集程度高等现象并不是农业生产率高的原因；４．国内外的实践都证明，家庭农场比集体农场更优越、效率更高。

This paper explains the practical experiences and theoretic studies on large-scale farming in many countries, analyses the survey data on scale-farming in experiemental counties, and gives some police suggestions. This paper thinks China should revalue the way o f developing large-scale farming with dense capital, the causes is: 1. many practical effect of large-scale farming is very little; 2. product efficiency is usually negatively related to scale; 3. large-scale farming and highly dense capital is not the cause of high efficiency in agriculture in developed countries. 4. practices in domestic and foreign agriculture proved the family farm is superior to collective farm.
