Reflection on the core and boundaries of the history of Chinese aesthetics

中国美学史的核心是审美,审美集中体现在艺术的审美活动中,并在艺术审美活动中建构了中国美学史的基本体系,形成了自己的特色和风格。然而,在中国古代,审美并未止于艺术,亦延及人生、社会和自然等诸多领域,因此,中国美学史的边界应当是人类社会一切生活以及与之相关的社会环境和自然环境。

The core of aesthetics is aesthetic appreciation,which is collectively reflected in the various aesthetic activities of art. The fundamental system of the history of Chinese aesthetics,which has its own features and style,was then constructed in the process of aesthetic appreciation of art. However,in ancient China,aesthetic appreciation was not only confined to art,but also extended to various areas of life,society,and nature. Therefore,the boundaries of the history of Chinese aesthetics should extend to the entire life of human being and related social and natural environment.
