Up to now, little research has addressed the testing of the dual labor market model for developing countries. Utilizing individual data from nation-wide town household survey in 2000 by National Bureau of Statistics of China (NBSC) , this paper examines the hypothesis for China by assigning workers to primary and secondary sectors. Earnings Functions are estimated for each sector and apparent evidence is founded to suggest that there is some form of segmentation in the labor market in China.
