细部是建筑的灵魂

Detail is the soul of architecture

重视细部设计是当代建筑设计的基本特征之一,也是现代建筑趋向于成熟的主要标志之一。细部不等于装饰,而是一种与建筑的建造过程、建造手段以及建造素材直接相关的建筑的具体化内容。从广义的角度看,局部空间及其连接关系也应被视为细部来进行处理。没有细部就没有优秀的建筑,细部的缺乏是中国当代建筑设计中存在的关键问题。

It is one of the basic characters of contemporary architecture that details are emphasized, and one of the most important signs that modern architecture tends to become more mature. As we known, detail is something concrete in relation to building process and building means and building material, not ornament. In a broader sense, we may also deal with the parts of space and their interrelationships as details. No details, no excellent architectures. The primary problem puzzling Chinese architects greatly is lack of details in architectural designs.
