In the technology of electrokinetic remediation,we plug electrodes in soils and apply direct current,the water and electriferous ions in soils are moving toward the electrodes,so the pollutants in the soils are moving and cumulating around electrodes,then they are pump out and treated.Electrokinetic soil remediation is an emerging in suit technology and is accepted by many researchers and countries. A series of pilot scale studies and techniques are growing up, and the Lasagna and Electro klean processes have been carried out in Kentucky and Louisiana, USA.
