Relevance theory, a theory of language communication, depicts the inherent property of lan-guage communication within a culture. Yet, it fails to give an adequate explanation of translation as a crosscultural language communication on account of its incompetence in showing how to transplant the culturaldefault, one of default models from which optimal relevance generates.
