摘要
利用X射线光电子能谱 (XPS) ,对贝壳珍球层层间断口进行了研究 ,探讨了有机物的元素组成及其随死亡期的变化。研究结果表明 :贝壳珍珠层层间都含有C、Ca、N、O这四种元素 ,还有少量的S元素 ,有机质元素含量为C(6 7.5 0 ) ,O(17.6 8) ,N(14 .2 4 ) ,S(0 .5 8)at%。层间断口处有机物均匀存在于断口两侧 ,裂纹在有机物中的路径是曲折的 ,有利于增韧。对应于珍珠层力学性能随死亡期的变化 ,层间有机物随死亡期的延长其成份也有所变化。
Fracture surface between the lamina of nacre is studied by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, which shed new light on the locus of failure and the interfacial interactions involved. The elemental compositions of the organic matrix and its variation with the time duration after death of the shell are studied. XPS analysis shows that the organic layer was composed of C(67.50), O(17.68), N(14.24), S(0.58) at%, which changes a little with the time duration after death of the shell. The interface fails cohesively, leaving organic matrix on both sides. The crack travels unevenly through the matrix, which is helpful to toughen the nacre.
