摘要
本文拟从神话 -原型批评的角度探讨《还乡》的主题、主要角色和小说结构 。
Thomas Hardy in this novel strengthens his use of various Greek, Christian and Pagan allusions which work together to form a complete archetypal system from the environment, the main characters to the structure, provoking different meanings and effects. And through this well desighed system, Hardy displays his understanding on man and nature, the heroic and the realistic, and his contribution to rejuvenating the ancient dramatic form of Greek tragedy is the novel of 19 th century.
