摘要
从跨文化交际中的定型理论(stereotype)出发,将英语阅读看成是作者与读者之间的一种信息交流过程,探讨定型观念对英语阅读产生的影响。实证分析了当作者的自定型与读者的他定型存在偏差时,定型观念给阅读效果带来的正面或负面的印象。针对其影响,提出英语阅读教学中所需要改进的方面:阅读材料引进观点上的多视角;在文化融合中促进学生他定型观念的全面性。并运用传播学理论中的涵化过程(acculturation),阐述阅读这一交流形式对个人定型观念产生的反作用。
The theory of stereotyping probes its influence on English reading, which is taken as the process of information exchanging between authors and readers. Case study shows stereotyping would have either a positive or negative effect on reading when the author's stereotyping and the reader's are different. To offset the influence, improvement in teaching reading should be aimed at diversified reading materials as well as cultural blending which is conducive to readers' comprehensive stereotyping. By means of 'acculturation, theory' in communication,it explores the counter-effect of reading on stereotyping.
