Self-awareness Design and Chinese Model

以"文化自觉"的视野提出在当代中西文化日益交融、环境艺术设计面向多元化的思潮中,中国设计师应做出由对中国传统文化的"文化自觉"向"设计自觉"转换的主动选择,积极探求将中国传统文化中形而上的抽象概念转化为具体的设计符号和设计表达方式,从而向世界传达出期望的美学内涵———中国方式,以确立历久不衰的中华设计文明在中西设计对话中的应有话语地位。

From the perspective of culture self-awareness, this paper advances that Chinese designers should play an active role in choosing self-awareness design instead of traditional Chinese culture self-awareness and explores positively the ways to convert the abstract metaphysical conception to concrete symbols and expressions, which, therefore, can convey expected aesthetic connatation, Chinese model,to the whole world so as to establish the due discourse status of everlasting Chinese designing culture in the dialogue with foreign counterparts.
