摘要
自由教育思想认为,教育的惟一和最高目的是获取知识和发展智慧,教育不应该有任何功利性的目的。从古至今这一思想在英国的教育理论中一脉相承,其影响渗透到英国现代教育实践的方方面面。考察自由教育思想对英国教育实践的影响,也给我们今天的教育改革带来一些有益的启示。
Liberal pedagogism thinks that the only and ultimate object of education is to attain knowledge and develop intelligence for no utilitarianistic purpose. Throughout history till today, this thinking has continued to be dominant in British theory of education and exert its influence on every aspect of educationa practice in Britain. An investigation of the influence of liberal pedagogy on educational practice in Britain will certainly offer some beneficial enlightenment to the current educational reform in our country.
