The theory on 'literary qi' researched into life forms of writers by 'qi' of 'yin' or 'yang' in order to explore life value and life energy of writers, and adovocate the unification of life form and writing style of writers. This thought set out the ideal life, in which nature and human and literature are integrated into one, and truth, benevolence and beauty blend into one another. This thought has significant implication for the production of contemporary literature and the construction of contemporary literary criticism.
