摘要
本文阐述了情态动词语义量值差异的基本概念,并指出情态动词在体现情态意义过程中表现出不同量值的语义选择。情态动词量值取向通常取决两方面的因素:1)功能动因主要表现在责任与期望程度、语义相对性和语体识别功能三个方面;2)认知动因主要表现在事物认识程度、认知复杂程度及否定命题转换三个方面。
This paper discusses the basic concepts of variant degrees of modal verbs and puts forward that in the realization of modal meaning modal verbs can present variant degrees of semantic choice.Degree orientation of modal verbs rests with two kinds of elements:1)the causes of semantic function can be found in Degree of responsibility/expectation, semantic relativity and stylistic recogni tion; 2)the causes of psychological cognition can be found in degree of unders tanding of things, degree of cognitive complexity and transference of negative proposition.
