Design and construction of water release structure of Maopingxi Project

三峡茅坪溪防护工程泄水建筑物由进口明渠、隧洞、箱涵、出口明渠组成，全长３１０４ｍ，隧洞断面１１ｍ×１０．６ｍ（宽×高），采用３孔箱涵，单孔断面尺寸为４ｍ×８ｍ（宽×高）。隧洞大部分采用喷锚混凝土，厚８～２０ｃｍ，箱涵混凝土厚０．８～１．２ｍ。该工程于１９９２年１２月２８日开工，１９９４年９月１６通过通水前阶段验收并通水运用，工程投资１．５亿元．该工程如期建成，满足了三峡工程总进度要求，并创造了隧洞开挖月进尺４４９．７ｍ（两端进）的国内新纪录。

The Maopingxi Project is. constructed to protect the Maoping stream valley from inundation due to constructing the Three Gorges Project. Its water release structure consists of the intake channel, tunnel, bob culvert and outlet channel, with its total length of 3 104 m. The sectional dimensions of the tunnel are 11 m×10. 6 m (width ×height).Most of the tunnel is lined using shotcrete, with its liner thickness of 8￣20 cm. Tho box culvert consists of three rectangular openings of 4m7×8m (width ×height),with its concrete wall thickness of 0.8￣ 1. 2m. The project started on December 28, 1992. After acceptance,the project was put into operation on September 16,1994, with its cost of 150 million yuan (RB).,The maxitrium monthly tunnelling footage;(both-end tunnelling ) of 449. 7m-new record at home-has been achieved, and the on-time,completion of the project met the requirement of overall programme.
