英语中的新词反映了英语以及英语使用者生活中的发展变化.研究新词要有动态眼光.社会变化决定了新词产生的必然性,而新词的最终表现形式却带有明显的偶然性.词义的系统性决定了新词在形式上与普通词汇或其它新词的关联.新词在词义上表现出动态特征,缺乏严谨定义,在不同的语境下会产生不同的意义.新词同时具有民族性,给非本族语使用者的理解和翻译都带来一定的困难.

Neologism witnesses the changes of English and the changes in the life of the people who use it as their native language. A dynamic attitude toward neologism is desirable. Appearance of new English words is both inevitable and arbitrary. Social changes are inevitably reflected in new words, while the ultimate form of the word is arbitrary. The systemization of vocabulary determines that new words in their forms be related to general words and/or other new words. The definition of a new word is ever changing, and may bear different meanings in different contexts. Neologism is ethnic, which is difficult for non-native users to understand or translate.
