Though shrouded by a haze of imitating antiquity among the literary circle in the Ming Dynasty, the poet Gao Shu-si independently demonstrates his natural true emotions with a poetical style characterized by his delicate words, gracefulness, and pure and honest emotions. He is a key poet in converting the poetic style of the late Ming Dynasty and has a profound influence upon the field of poetry in the late Ming and early Qing Dynasties.
