The practice of informed consent in emergency medicine seems to be quite different from that in all other medical contexts. In emergency medicine no complete informed consent is required sometimes and it may even be excused. This may lead to ~the false belief that informed consent in emergency medicine is not as important as it is in other non - emergency medical situa- tions. To hold that informed consent is important and necessary in emergency medicine although there are exceptions and other special cases where informed consent is implemented in different ways.
