外语阅读焦虑与英语成绩及性别的关系 被引量:190

Foreign Language Reading Anxiety and Its Relationship to English Achievement and Gender

摘要 利用外语阅读焦虑和外语课堂焦虑量表,对通过分层随机抽样得到的211名非英语专业二年级大学生进行了测试,并就阅读焦虑与英语四级统考成绩及性别的关系进行了研究。结果表明:1)中国大学生外语阅读焦虑明显高于美国初学外语的大学生;2)阅读焦虑和英语四级统考成绩及阅读理解成绩之间存在负相关关系;3)男生阅读焦虑显著高于女生,英语成绩则显著低于女生,但是课堂焦虑在性别上没有表现出显著差异。 This study investigated foreign language reading anxiety and its relationships to CET4 and gender. Based on stratified random sampling, 211 subjects were selected. Results indicated that Chinese college students' foreign language reading anxiety was evidently higher than their American counterparts, and negatively correlated with scores of both CET4 and reading comprehension. Boys displayed significantly higher reading anxiety than girls, and their English achievement was significantly lower. As for foreign language classroom anxiety, no significant gender difference was found.
