In the 1980's, there appeared two theories in the study of the Cold War —— corporationism and depolarizafionism, which provided new interpretations for the origin of the Cold War. Corporationism studied the Cold War in the context of the 20th-century America and indicated that the Cold War was a natural result of the corporationist pursuit of American leaders such as Hoover and Roosevelt for an international order after the American example. Depolarizationism emphasized Britain's role in the origin of the Cold War.
