Consideration and Practice of Breeding Indica Hybrid Rice Combinations with High Yield, Fine Quality and High Econolnic Effect for the Lateseason in South China

提出华南杂交晚籼选育的８项意见，即优质性、高产性、抗病性、后期耐寒性、熟期适中性、早制晚用性、恢复系苗期耐寒性以及制种父母本播种差期短等。按此育成了博优２１０等组合，达到了预期的选盲目标。

On the basis of the analysis of the commercial hybrid rice combinations and the new require-ments of high yield,fine quality and high efficiency for varietal breeding,the criteria for breeding indica hy-brid rice for the late season in south China were considered to be good grain quality,high yield potential,good disease resistance,strong cold tolerance,suitable growth duration,hybrid seed production in the earlyseason and commercial production in the late season in the same year,strong cold tolerance of restorer linesin seedling period,slight defference in seeding dates of the two parents in hybrid seed production. Accordingto this consideration,in the practice of breeding the combination of Boyou 210 was successfully developed.It meets such criteria of the breeding objectives. So the planting area of Boyou 210 increased rapidly from240 hm2 in 1993 to about 13 000 hm2 and it shows a great potential for development in the near future.
