Civilization Disparity and Aesthetic Modernity Between China and the West

中国和西方由于各自文明形态和文明进程的差异,导致了它们的审美现代性存在着两种根本的区别:一是在审美独立性追求上存在着差异,二是在审美对待现代文明的态度上存在着差异。

There are two essential differences in aesthetic modernity between China and the West. The first is that aesthetic modernity of the West is independent of science and rational field while China is independent of political struggle. The second is that the main purpose of the western aesthetic modernity is to criticize the result of modern science world, while that of Chinese aesthetic modernity is to help construct a country of modern science. This difference can be traced to their different civilizations.
