摘要
计算机辅助语言教学已有四十多年的历史。在这期间,语言教学观经历了从行为一结构主义到认知主义再到社会认知主义的变迁。同时,计算机技术也实现了从大型主机到个人计算机再到网络型的、多媒体计算机的巨大飞跃。在二者的影响下,计算机辅助语言教学也取得了长足的进步。本文结合近年来国内外学术界较有影响的几位学者Warschauer、Stephen以及陈坚林对于CALL发展阶段和发展趋势所做出的较为系统的历史描述,从新的视角提出了自己的不同看法。
Over the past 40 years, computer assisted language learning (CALL) has witnessed the overlapping of three theoretical movements—— behavioral structural, cognitive and socio-cognitive —— in the recent history of language instruction. At the same time, computer technology has experienced the development from the mainframe to the personal and to the net-based, multimedia computer. Under their influence, CALL has made great progress. In response to Warschauer' s three widely doubting categories, Stephen reviews briefly the short history of CALL, proposes three new terms that define and describe CALL history better. In the final part, the writer compares the two historical descriptions, follows Professor Chen Jianlin' s arguments, and finally puts forward another critical examination to it from a new perspective.
