This paper analyzes Paul Scott's mysterious and erotic description of the Indian life during his days and casts doubts on the so-called 'erotic mythology' created by the British writer to depict India and explore the difference between the Orient and the Occident. In the article Scott's Orientalist-style of writing is carefully scrutinized through the spectrum of post-colonial and feministic theories.
