The present paper, within the framework of Relevance--Theoretic Approach to Translation proposed by Gutt, makes a tentative generalization of the features of the translating process: relevancy, dynamics and indeterminacy in the working of the translator's mind. These features are interrelated and interdependent. Any renderings without relevance to the author's informative intention and communicative intention can be considered as a failure. With the principle of relevance as guidance, it is the casual interaction between the original stimuli, source cognitive environment, the translator's processing of the author's intentions, his knowledge of target cognitive environment and receptor audience's aesthetic expectations and acceptability level, as well as his aesthetic qualities that make indeterminate translating process dynamic.
