The Practice of Architectural Design with the Concept of Critical Regionalism——Design of the Manitoba Hydro Corporation Headquarters

以批判的地域主义观念去解读建筑、指导实践具有现实意义,它强调将建筑物与所处城市紧密联系,进行更加一体化的思考,从策略与技术两个层面去回应当地各种限制性要素。本文通过解读曼尼托巴水电集团办公楼项目,挖掘批判的地域主义观念在当代大型公共建筑实践中的积极指导作用。

It is of practical significance to interpret architectures and to guide practice with a concept of critical regionalism, which emphasizes that architectures should be closely related to the city where it is located, and architects should think in a united way and consider the local restrictive factors in two aspects of strategies and techniques. This paper, through introducing the project of Manitoba Hydro Corporation Headquarters, explained the positive guiding role of critical regionalism in the practice of contemporary large public architectures.
