摘要
无障碍环境涉及全人类,作为一个重大问题,其紧迫性反映出工作重心已从原来的医疗模式,即对有障碍人士的关心、保护和帮助,以使他们适应"正常的"社会机制而转移到了通用设计这种社会模式,即通过改变产品以及环境来改善所有人的生活,以此来促进全人类的机会均等。由此可见,通用设计是无障碍设计的发展与完善,它将是未来设计的主要发展方向。
Barrier free surroundings relate to the whole mankind. It becomes an important problem, and its emphasis is from medical model （ to help handicapped persons to adapt to society） to society model （ universal design ）. Universal design is the design that can improve the living of all the people through transforming products and environment and make all have same opportunities. In conclusion, universal design is the development and improvement of harrier free design. It is the general direction of future design.
