工业园区的规划充分借鉴了新加坡成功的城市规划经验，保持并强化了古城区以及沪宁城市带良好的形态关系，在土地的开发与利用、功能的分布与交织、住区的组织与引导等方面作出了积极的探索，力图使其具有开放的城市结构。

The planning of SIP has well drawn on the successful experience on urban planning of Singapore. It retains and strengthens good structure between the SIP and old district along with it between the SIP and the Hu Ning City Belt. It has made a active and effective study on the land development and utilization, the distribution and interweaving of functions, the form and interweaving of residential districts, etc, hasing the opening city structure. It provides the theoretical basis for the continuity and development of cities and regions.
