On the Essence of Business English Teaching

本文主要结合Mark Ellis & Christine Johnson的商务英语教学理论,和商务英语课程的教学实际,探讨商务英语及其教学特点。强调商务英语教学的本质是英语语言教学。主张充分认识商务英语作为特殊用途英语的一种,是基于普通英语基础之上的变体。建议在具备扎实英语知识和技能的基础上,引导在校学生进行自主学习,丰富商务知识,提高商务意识。

Based on Mark Ellis＆ Christine Johnson＇s theory of business English teaching, this paper analyzes the general features of business English and its teaching. The essence of business English teaching is thought to be the teaching of English language. Business English is one variety of English language for specific purposes. Therefore, students＇ basic skills in English are of first priority in their learning of business English. Meanwhile, students should conduct self learning to acquire more business information in order to achieve better effects.
