A NEW SPECIES OF PROTOSTRONGYLID LUNGWORM FROM TAKIN (STRONGYLATA: PROTOSTRONGYLIDAE)

本文记述了寄生在濒危动物羚牛Budorcas taxicolor肺脏小支气管内的变圆属线虫一新种,命名为长刺变圆线虫Varessrongylus longispiculatus sp.nov.本文对新种的形态特征作了详细描述,并与近似种青海变圆线虫V.qinghaiensis有明显的区别。

In 1986, the auther examined two dead takins from Ningshaan County, Shaanxi Province, China. A nematode was collected from branchiole of lung, and by careful examination, it was found different from the other members of the genus Varlstrongylus and nominated a new species.Varestrongylus longispiculatus sp. nov. (figs. 1-13)Body light yellow, as slender as a hair. Mouth with tri-Iips. Six head papillae present. Buccal cavity absent. Excretory pore situated at the middle of oesophagus. Nerve ring situated anterior to the excretory pore.Male: Body 12.47-17.19×0.062-0.075mm. Oesophagus 0.294-0.349 × 0.027-0.039mm. Bursa consisting of tri-lobes, the dorsal lobe obvious. Ventral ray stout, cleft at distal thin, latero ventral ray lightly slender than ventro-ventral. Medio-latcral ray the longest, reaching to the margin of bursa, posterio-lateral ray smaller than any other ray, arising as a branch of the medio-lateral ray and arranged nearly with it in right angle. Externo-dorsal ray slender, slightly curved. Dorsal ray 0.018-0.027 mm in length, ending in two digitations. Spicules unequal, provided with transversal pectinate membrane, unbifurcated terminally, ending laceolate tip. The longer one (L. S.) 2.80-3.14 mm in length and the shorter one (R. S.) 2.32-2.82mm in length. Gubernaculum consisting of body and crura, located at the distal end of the body. The body platyelongate, bifurcated anteriorly, slighly chitinized, blunted posteriorly, 0.114-0.147 m in length, the crura paired, strongly chitinized, trigonal in lateral view, 0.027-0.029 mm in length, with six odontoid processes in ventral border. Telamon undeveloped, a chition-ous plate situated ventral to spicules and gubernaculum, shover-shapcd in ventral view, and inverted peach-shaped in lateral view.Female: Body 44.75-51.75 × 0.090-0.120mm in length. Provagina well developed, bell-shaped in lateral view. Tail conical, 0.066-0.093mm in length. Vulva just anterior to anus.
