美国长期以来在台海问题上的两面性政策导致“台独”势力的恶性发展，近些年来更是在主张维持台海现状的同时纵容“台独”坐大。美国自认为可以掌控“台独”势力，实际上对“台独”的遏止是有限的，这是当前台海局势潜伏危机的严重所在。
