Ethnic Group Culture:Redefining the Concept of Minnan Culture

闽南文化的概念是模糊的,先有20世纪20年代厦门大学国学研究院对闽南文化的具体研究,直至20世纪80年代末才出现"闽南文化"一词。时下常见的闽南文化即区域文化或闽南方言区文化的这两种主要说法,都不足于全面规范闽南文化的概念;而第三种观点即闽南文化为民系或族群文化,如果充分运用族群理论进行分析,则可以比较妥贴地阐释闽南文化的内涵与外延,同时还展示了闽南文化作为一种族群文化,其具有独特的人情味与文化个性。

Though the research of Minnan culture has lasted eighty-odd years since 1920 ＇ s, the concept of Minnan culture is fuzzy now. Compared with the two different sayings of Minnan culture in these days such as the regional culture and the Minnan dialect culture, the third viewpoint is that the clan culture or the ethnic group culture can explain relevantly the intension and extension of Minnan culture by making full use of the ethnic group theory, which displays unique human interest and culture personality of Minnan culture as a ethnic group culture.
