Review of the Discussion about Population Problem During the Period of the Republic of China

近代以来我国人口增长迅速,民元以后人口问题更与经济、社会问题交织在一起,从而造成了严重的社会危机。面对这一情况,不同领域的专家学者纷纷从救亡图存的角度出发,阐述了对人口问题的看法和意见,掀起了关于人口问题的讨论热潮。他们的讨论不仅加深了人们对我国人口状况的认识,同时为政府合理解决这一问题提供了很好的理论基础和政策建议。

Since the middle age of the Qing dynasty China had seen a tast growth ot its population. After the foundation of the Republic of China, mingled with the serious economy crisis and social conflicts the population problem became more complicated. Facing this situation, many experts and scholars in different fields not only gave their own views, but also put forward a lot of reasonable suggestions to the problem. Their discussion not only deepened people＇s understanding of the population condition of that time, but also helped government to deal with it. Because so many people joined the argumentation, soon came the first wave of the discussion on population problem in modern history of China.
