摘要
全球化的新语境呼吁新的外语翻译教学视角,同时也对传统翻译教学的文化功能提出了新的要求,即实现其文化调停功能。传统的翻译教学多以语言功能原则为指导,讲究从反复的翻译练习和翻译理论的灌输中获得翻译技能,这种教学易将语言从日常生活中抽绎出来,这种教学原则妨碍了翻译作为语言文化交流沟通的桥梁目的,更无法实现各种文化之间的调停。翻译教学中文化调停功能包括帮助学生认知不同文化的建构,提高学生的跨文化素质,强化他们的国际化意识,理解和尊重不同的文化,实现不同语言文化之间的平衡交流。
This paper aims at exploring the cultural mediation function of translation teaching from an intercultural perspective in the context of globalization. By investigating the three traditional teaching models of translation in China:the translation skills-oriented model, the translation theories.oriented model;and the translation theory and practice model,it is revealed that the main limitations of the three models lie in the treatment of translatien as a cultural static phenomenon,independent of cultural interaction. These limitations prevent translation from serving as a bridge to effective communication of cultural values,especially in the context where there is the need for mediation between very diverse cultures. Hence,it is argued that translation teaching should be treated as cultural communication activities rather than purely linguistic interactions. It is further argued that in translation teaching, its cultural mediation function should be maximized from an intercultural perspective,focusing on developing students' intercultural competence and global awareness and promoting understanding and respect for different cultures.
