摘要
根据当前大学生英语写作中存在的比较突出的问题之一,即语言表达词不达意以及不符合英语表达习惯,本文立足于词汇法的教学新理念,对如何提高学生的写作能力提出教学策略。词汇法强调的是“词块”而不是“词汇”,主张语言教学应把学生的注意力引向诸如固定搭配、成语、固定或半固定短语等词块的学习上。文章阐明了词汇法及其对提高学生写作能力的重要意义,指出教师应增强学生的词块意识。文章最后提出了相应的教学对策,力图对提高大学生英语写作能力作一些有益的探索。
In the light of one of the prominent English writing problems with college students, namely the inappropriate and non-idiomatic English usage, and based on the new teaching concept of the Lexical Approach, this paper develops some teaching strategies to improve students' writing skills. The Lexical Approach lays stress on "chunk" rather than "vocabulary". It holds that language teaching should direct learners' attention to the lexical chunks such as collocations, idioms, fixed and semi-fixed phrases, etc. This paper expounds the Lexical Approach and its significance in improving students' writing skills. It points out that when teaching teachers should raise students' consciousness of lexical chunks. And finally it puts forward feasible strategies as some exploration into how to improve college students' English writing skills.
