Thoughts on the Appropriateness of Compulsory Law Enforcement of Ethics

道德对于社会秩序和社会生活的重要性是不言而喻的,由于存在着道德仅靠自身力量所无法解决的问题,使得社会对道德的法律强制成为正当和必要。本文通过分析道德的法律强制之正当性和必要性、可强制的道德范围及道德强制的实现途径来阐述道德的法律强制对社会主义和谐秩序构建的重要意义。

The significance of ethics to social life and social order is self-evident. Owing to the existence of problem which can not be resolved by morality alone, it is necessary to take compulsory measures in enforcing the morality. This paper analyzes the necessity and appropriateness of compulsory law enforcement of morality; moreover it deals with the types of morality applicable to compulsory enforcement and ways of achieving compulsory enforcement. In the end, it elaborates the significance of compulsory law enforcement of morality in the construction of socialism harmony.
