A brief introduction is made of the geological and cur- rent mining conditions of the seam located in the west wing of the Xianghuatai Shaft of Doulishan Coal Mine,L ianshao Mining Administration,Hunan Province,fhe necessity of shifting conventional mining system to hydromining system for poverty relief,the feasibility of the technological process selscted,and the economic and social returns yielded after hydromining system is adopted.
