摘要
DOS的FAT文件系统决定了每个文件在硬盘上因簇悬置而平均浪费了半个簇的磁盘空间,而簇的大小取决于硬盘的分区大小.理论上对于一些比较大的文件,大簇所造成的簇悬置空间可由其文件分配项的减少而部分抵消.但实际上,在常用软件中小文件大大超过了大文件,因此硬盘的分区越小,使用效率越高.对于超大容量的硬盘,最好的分区大小是500MB。
The FAT file system of DOS causes the waste of half cluster disk space in average because of cluster overhang, and cluster size is decided by partition size of Fixeddisk. To some relatively big files, cluster overhang space of big cluster may be partly offset by decreasing file allocation items, but in practice, small files far exceed big files in common softwares, so the smaller the partition size of Fixeddisk, the higher its use efficiency. For very big Fixeddisk, the best partition size is 500MB, in such a way it can keep use efficiency of Fixeddisk more than ninety percent.
