The alkyl-ammonium adsorption amount in the montmorillonite is the determinate factor which influences the modification effect. Several methods for measuring the alkyl-ammonium adsorption amount was introduced, especially by measuring loss of ignition can determine the adsorption amount. When the dosage and the structure of alkyl-ammonium were different, the intercalation efficiency and effective dosage were analysised based on the loss of ignition.
