中国女译者性别意识研究——一项基于《喜福会》中译本的个案研究

On gender awareness of Chinese women translators:A Case study of Chinese translations of The Joy Luck Club

选取《喜福会》The Joy Luck Club的四个中译本(分别由男、女译者所译),从语言和内容两个层面探讨性别意识在翻译过程中的作用,探究女译者是否在语言使用和翻译策略方面会体现出其女性身份。研究发现:《喜福会》的女译者无论是在语言层面还是翻译策略的选择方面都未凸显其女性身份,未对翻译过程进行女性主义干预。

A comparative case study of four Chinese versions of The Joy Luck Club translated by female and male translators respectively were made with the aim to explore the role of gender in the translating process. Based on the quantitative and qualitative analysis on linguistic and content levels, the research concluded that the female transla- tor does not reveal her female identity either by her lexical choice or her translation strategies. The female translator does not intervene in the translating precess with feminist translation strategies.
